The Munich familybusinessowner plays golfalmost exclusively duringholidays – but he makesthe most of it.

Mr. Bogner, you were a ski racer for the national team. You are one ofthe most successful family-business owners in Germany, in a branch ofindustry that is almost extinct in Germany. You made over 35 movies, inwhich you have done some risky stunts. In those movies, you were oftena screenplay writer, director, cameraman and producer all at once. Oneshould not forget that you also worked on four James Bond movies. Howmany hours „are“ there in your day?

… Obviously too few sometimes…

How do you still find the time to play golf?

Just like the majority of working people I play on weekends and holidays. Onesimply needs time and the necessary quiet to enjoy the sport properly.

When and how were you infected by the sport?

Fairly early. I took shots for our golf collection in the early seventies and at acertain moment I wanted to see how it feels to swing a club. I have played asoften as I could from that moment on.

What does golf mean to you?

One spends time outdoors, in the nature, forgets the stress, calms down – that isimportant to me. It is a perfect substitute for skiing in the summer.

Is there a goal that you want to attain as a hobby golfer?

I would like to keep my handicap one-digit.

How high is your handicap?

It is 8.7 at the moment.

How often do you play in a week?

Sadly, not every week, but I do it every day when I am on holidays!

Which clubs do you use?

Ping irons and Callaway woods.

Is there a golfer that you revere, with whom you would like to play around?

I have known and admired Bernhard Langer for a long time now. He made thesport popular in Germany! I just played the ProAm tournament of the BerenbergMasters together with him. It is always fun and a great honor.
